dc.description.abstract	Diplomová práce se zabývá alternativními tresty, které nahrazují nepodmíněný trest odnětí svobody. Práce vymezuje základní pojmy, které se vztahují k tématu. Zabývá se pojmem "trest", dále definuje účel trestu, včetně teorií, shrnuje základní zásady ukládání trestů, které se uplatňují i u alternativních trestů a vymezuje pojmy resocializace a reintegrace. Problematika alternativních trestů je vymezena historiograficky, dále jsou v ní charakterizovány jednotlivé alternativní tresty, pozitiva i negativa a v neposlední řadě také komparace vybraných alternativních trestů v rámci států Evropské unie. V komplexní rovině je prezentována Probační a mediační služba České republiky, kde je vysvětlena podstata probace a mediace, popisuje její vznik u nás, činnosti a charakterizuje institut jako takový. Empirická část je věnována kvalitativnímu výzkumu, který je založen na rozhovorech, pozorování a obsahové analýze. Dominantně se zabývá problematikou alternativních trestů v okrese Bruntál.	cze
dc.description.abstract-translated	This thesis deals with alternative forms of punishment that can substitute custodial sentences. The thesis defines basic terms pertaining to the discussed topic. It specifically deals with the term "punishment", defines the purpose of punishment including various theories, summarises basic principles of administration of punishments, which also apply to alternative forms of punishment, and defines the two basic terms of resocialization and reintegration. The subject of alternative forms of punishment is presented from a historical perspective. Individual alternative forms are characterized, their respective advantages and disadvantages are discussed, and selected forms of punishment applied in various EU countries are compared. The Probation and Mediation Service of the Czech Republic is presented in a comprehensive manner, including an explanation of the nature of probation and mediation, a discussion of the service´s establishment and activities in the Czech Republic, and a characterization of the institute as such. The empirical part consists in a qualitative research based on interviews, observation and content analysis. This part of the thesis focuses mainly on alternative forms of punishment administered in the Bruntál region.	eng
