dc.description.abstract	The work deals with the use of a virtual world Second Life for the purpose of English language teaching with the focus on developing learners’ speaking skill. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the development of communicative competence is discussed with special attention to a recent model of second language speaking competence by Goh and Burns. Specific types of speaking activities are presented as well as the general concept of the speaking skill. The last chapter of the theoretical part defines the virtual environment of Second Life and its specifics. In the practical part of the thesis, speaking activities conducted in the virtual environment of Second Life are evaluated, based on defined criteria for a qualitative observation, in order to determine their benefits and limitations for developing learners’ speaking skill.	eng
dc.description.abstract-translated	Práce se zabývá využitím virtuálního světa Second Life pro účely výuky anglického jazyka se zaměřením na rozvoj řečové dovednosti mluvení. V teoretické části práce je definován vývoj komunikační kompetence, zvláštní pozornost je věnována nedávno publikovanému modelu kompetence k mluvení od autorek Gohové a Burnsové. Dále je v teoretické části práce popsán celý koncept řečové dovednosti mluvení a konkrétní typy mluvených aktivit. Poslední kapitola teoretické části práce je věnována definici virtuálního světa Second Life a jeho charakteristikám. Praktická část práce obsahuje stanovená kritéria pro výzkum, a dále pak výzkum samotný provedený na základě zhlédnutých lekcí v prostředí Second Life. Jedná se o analýzu a zhodnocení mluvených aktivit, která je vedená za účelem zjištění jejich pozitiv a negativ pro rozvoj řečové dovednosti mluvení.	cze
