Literary Image of Late 19th Century American Women in Selected Works of Fiction

Abstract

The bachelor thesis aims to analyse the position of women in the 19th century America. The first part of the thesis provides the essential knowledge of American society together with prominent feminist movements of the century. The second part of the thesis focuses on applying this knowledge to the works of two American feminist writers, Charlotte Perkins Gilman and Louisa May Alcott.
