dc.description.abstract	The bachelor thesis analyses the way in which James Herriot depicted Yorkshire in selected works: namely, how he portrayed the landscape of the Yorkshire Dales and the dialect and character traits of people who lived there in the late 1930s and 1940s. To understand these aspects of the region, theoretical background regarding the North of England, Yorkshire, and the Yorkshire Dales, as well as the most important features of the Yorkshire dialect are provided as part of the thesis.	eng
