Abstract:
This paper presents the new, lithium-titanate (nLTO) battery technology using nano crystals as energy storage for a public transport vehicle. The "Dopravní společnost Zlín-Otrokovice (DSZO)" public transport company has acquired a new Škoda 26Tr trolleybus, equipped with traction batteries (nLTO), for trial operation in 2016. This partial trolleybus will be used at the existing lines, and it will also replace articulated buses. In view of the short duration of operation of the partial trolleybus, the results of the trial operation of the mentioned vehicle at two selected lines will be stated below in comparison with the Škoda 24Tr with a diesel generator (DG) for independent run. Top conclude, the test run of both vehicles wilbe evaluated as to the consumption of fuel and energy per 1 km, respectively.
