Abstract:
This thesis deals with the study of characteristics of selected improvised explosives which have currently been most frequently illegally produces and abused for committing crimes. The attention was paid especially to three substances - 3,3,6,6,9,9-hexamethyl-1,2,4,5,7,8-hexoxonane (triacetone triperoxide, TATP), 1,6-diaza-3,4,,8,9,12,13-hexaoxabicyclo[4,4,4] tetradecane (hexamethylene triperoxide diamine, HMTD) and butane-1,2,3,4-tetrayl tetranitrate (erythritol tetranitrate, ETN). The second part of the thesis which is paid attention to is studying the sensitivity of improvised primary explosives to friction and methods for its reduction.
