Úloha samosprávy v České republice v otázce ochrany zájmových zvířat

Abstract

The article is based on explanation of the complicated relationship among human being and animals and its development in the whole history. In the middle of part of this article, author tries to introduce some of the privileged animals – for example horses and especially dogs and last research of animal intelligence of some of these species. The main part of the article presents the role of public administration, especially municipalities and its duty of protection of pets (dogs) in the Czech Republic. This part runs problematic of dog shelters (asylums) in relation to public service, local government and the whole of society. This article shows questionnaire investigation of dog asylums and their problematic; relationship of municipalities and dogs shelters in Pardubice and Hradec Králové regions.
