Calculation of Logistics Costs in Inbound Logistics

Abstract

The topic of inbound logistics costs has recently become very actual. Inbound logistics involves a relationship with suppliers and also includes all the activities required for income, physical control and warehouse of inputs. Inbound logistics has become an interdisciplinary science that deals with optimal coordination, alignment, interconnection and optimization of the flow of raw materials, materials, semi-finished products, products and services, but it must not forget the flow of information and finance. The article is based on the world's scientific literature, especially from articles from the Web of Science database and the Scopus database. Furthermore, the case study is used in the article, which is one of the qualitative scientific methods and is very popular and used in scientific researches. The aim of this article is to show and use case study and calculation of logistics costs in the inbound logistics of a bus manufacturing company. The practical benefit of this article for the manufacturing company will be to make a proposal to change delivery of bus windows that is currently inadequate. The article also sets out the current cost and cost savings in money units. This article presents the case study, its challenges, research methodology and solutions to managing inbound logistics using an outsourced transportation of material from warehouses.
