Abstract:

The main objective of the submitted work was to study the effect of reaction conditions on phase composition and colour parameters of Pb2Sb2O7 and Pb2Sb2O6. The conditions of the calcination process as well as a molar Pb:Sb ratio were found to significantly influence the quality of multiphase Pb2Sb2O7 product. Colour parameters of the products were compared with three commercial samples of the Naples yellow. The white powder of Pb2Sb2O6 was synthetised in high purity in an opened tube furnace by calcination in two steps.
