Abstrakt
Management of corporate innovation processes is actually a current and never-ending topic nowadays. Innovation is the most frequently used word at these times. EU Office presents a tool which shows what the innovational competitive strength is like for each company. It consists of nine indicators which illustrate the innovation power, competitive strength and future prosperity of the country. However, this does not end with the innovations. Their protection is a crucial step. Concerning the patent activity, the Czech Republic lags behind significantly. If one succeed in enriching the current state of the art with one's own solution, which is brand new, and, primarily, has some potential, then one needs to think about protecting the solution against copying by competitors. If the possibility of secrecy is ignored, then protection through patent or utility model comes into consideration. Companies and institutions cannot protect their ideas suitably and then benefit from their licences applied abroad.
