Abstract:
This work is focused on monitoring the impact of accelerated aging and the effect of vapours components of essential oils on the characteristics of lignocellulosic materials. The methodology used was based on the study of diffusion and condensation of vapours of essential oils in the porous materials. It was found that processes occurring in the material during accelerated aging affect the structural and molecular surface characteristics of lignocellulosic materials. Vapour components of essential oils also have influence on condensed air humidity in the material that can act against bacterial attack.
