Presented work deals with the possibility of synthesis of violet SnO2 /Cr cassiterite pigments in which a part of tin ions was substituted by praseodymium ions. Pigments have been prepared by classical ceramic method. Pigments were characterized in terms of colour properties, particle size distribution and phase composition.
