K vývoji názorů na územně správní členění České republiky po roce 1989

Abstract

Administration division of the Czech Republic has been a most controversial problem of the state administration reform. Complicated discussion in the Parliament and in the Government have been carried out since the Constitution of the Czech Republic was introduced on 16 December 1992. The submitted proposals differed especially in the number of suggested districts. This is the reason why the House of Representatives could approve the estabishment of 14 districts only on 23 October 1997. At the same time, the merger of the statistic regions have been considered, so the Czech Republic could use the sources from structural European Union funds.
