Práce pojednává o společenských změnách v Čechách, které reflektovaly kuchařské knihy vycházející v období vymezeném první světovou válkou a pádem komunistického režimu v roce 1989. Seznamuje s nejvýznačnějšími autory a autorkami kuchařských knih v tomto období. |

The title of this diploma paper is The reflection of social changes in Budget Books and Cookery Books. From World War 1 to the fall of communism in the year 1989. So everyone can imagine what about is this diploma paper. The work is based on analyses of dosens of czech cookery books that were published between years 1914 (the begining of World War I) and 1989 (The Velvet revolution that signifyed the end of the communistic regime in Czechoslovakia). I took the cookery books as a source of information about humans – especially womens – life in this era. First of all I introduced the most important – that mens the most popular – authors, who were writing the cookery books in surveyed period. The most popular writers in the period that is in Czechoslovakia called The first republic werre two women – Anna Kejřová, the principal of own girl’s school in Hradec Králové and Marie Janků-Sandtnerová, the trade mistress of cooking in Prague whose legendary cookbok Kniha předpisů a kuchařských rozpočtů was published in more then 70 editions. After the World War II the title of the most published authors took another woman – Joza Břízová. After this I focused on men, who were authors of cookery books too, but their books were different from the books that were written by women. Another big issue were the employed women and their requirement of fast cooking. This is phenomenon of the communistic era in Czechoslovakia because of the labour service that was established in Czechoslovakia by presidential decree already in the year 1945. And in the communictic regime the unemployment was conceptualize as a crime. With this theme is also connected to themes of ready-to-cook foods and kitchen’s technics – that deal with the following chaptures. Another chapture thinks out how the cookery books reflected in its recipes the war with its poverty of food and nourishements. Special chapture deals with the new dicovered phenomenon – the cookery books that were written by Jewish women in concentration camps during the World War II. |
