Abstrakt
The neutralization dialysis of oxalic acid with sodium hydroxide through an anion-exchange membrane Neosepta-AHA was investigated in a batch two-compartment dialyzer for various acid/base concentration ratios. It was found that the presence of sodium hydroxide causes the significant increase of the transport rate of oxalic acid through the membrane compared with ordinary dialysis. The most influence of addition of sodium hydroxide can be observed for the lowest acid concentration, in this case the complete removal of oxalic acid from the compartment I can be seen in the half time of the experiment. To evaluate the effect of addition of hydroxide to transport of oxalic acid through the membrane, the values of permeability of oxalic acid were calculated from the data at the beginning of experiments and presented in graphical form. Further it was confirmed that the penetration of sodium ions through the anion-exchange membrane studied is negligible.
