Abstrakt
This bachelor thesis deals with Czech translational equivalents of English sentence condensers gerunds and present participles in the legal style. The first part characterizes legal style and legal translation. The second part defines and classifies English gerunds and participles from the viewpoint of syntax and discusses the translation of English sentence condensers into Czech. The last part of the paper presents findings of the analysis, which is based on the legal corpus consisting of the documents where English is used as a lingua franca.
