dc.description.abstract	Diplomová práce na téma Augustin a Židé se věnuje názorům Augustina na Židy a judaismus. Hlavním cílem této práce je snaha zachytit vývoj názorů na Židy a judaismus v Augustinově myšlení s ohledem na jeho inspirační zdroje (Pavel z Tarsu, Tyconius, exegeze Bible). Práce se převážně opírá o prameny. První část se zabývá židovskou populací v Africe a jejich právním postavením v římské říši. V této souvislosti byla důležitá diskuse o termínech religio, superstitio a secta, která se změnila s nástupem křesťanství. Před Augustinem církevní otcové 2.-4. století se o Židech vyjadřovali často po vlivem tradice Adversus Judaoes. Augustinovy zmínky o osobním setkání s Židy a doklady o jejich přítomnosti v jeho blízkosti jsou vzácné. Největší pozornost Židům a judaismu byla věnována v dílech Contra Faustum, De civitate Dei a Adversus Judaeos. Jeho stanoviska o Židech se často opakují. Hlavní motiv představuje Židy potvrzující pravdu křesťanství, protože zachovávají knihy Starého zákona a šíří je mezi pohany. Augustin přirovnal Židy ke Kainovi (Gn 4,9-16), který je chráněn znamením před zabitím. Druhým významným odkazem je spojení Židů s Žalmem 59,12: "Jen je nepobíjej, aby můj lid nezapomněl, rozežeň je svou mocí".	cze
dc.description.abstract-translated	The diploma thesis Augustine and the Jews deals with the views of Augustine on Jews and Judaism. The main aim of this work is an attempt to describe the development of views on the Jews and Judaism in Augustine's thought with regard to his sources of inspiration (Paul the Apostle, Tyconius, exegesis of the Bible). The thesis is based mainly on primary sources. The first section covers the Jewish population in Africa and their legal status in the Roman Empire. In this context it is significant a debate about the terms religio, superstitio and secta that has changed with the advent of Christianity. Before Augustine the Church Fathers of the 2nd - 4th century commented on Jews often under the influence of tradition Adversus Judaeos. Augustine's mentions of a personal encounter with the Jews and evidence of their presence in his vicinity are rare. The greatest attention to the Jews and Judaism was paid by Augustine in the works Contra Faustum, De civitate Dei and Adversus Judaeos. His opinions of the Jews are often repeated. The main theme presents that the Jews confirm the truth of Christianity, because they preserve the books of the Old Testament and they spread them among the gentiles. Augustine compared the Jews to Cain (Gn 4,9-16) who is protected by mark from killing. The second important reference is the connection of the Jews with the Psalm 59,12: "Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power".	eng
