The collapse of the inflationary currency in the Habsburg Monarchy at the end of 1623 as the culmination of the long economic cycle of 1615-1623

Abstract

In his contribution, the author interprets the issue of the inflationary depreciation of the currency (the so-called „Calada“) of the Habsburg Monarchy in 1623 in a previously unknown context. He interprets the inflationary development of 1621-1623 as the culmination of a longer economic cycle that had already begun in 1615.
