Abstrakt
This diploma thesis investigates whether and how digital technologies can support vocabulary learning and the development of learning strategies in lower-secondary English classes. The theoretical part situates the topic within English language teaching at the primary level, defines vocabulary teaching in relation to communicative competence, and characterises relevant learning strategies. It also explores how digital tools can enhance vocabulary acquisition and these strategies. The practical part presents action research conducted in one class, focusing on the integration of selected digital applications into vocabulary lessons and analysing students' perceptions, including perceived benefits and challenges.
