Abstrakt

Cyclic voltammetry and linear sweep voltammetry have been used to study the electrochemical behaviour of phylloquinone, known as vitamin K1 at a carbon paste electrode modified with sodium dodecyl sulfate in 99.9% acetonitrile containing 0.1 mol L-1 LiClO4. For comparison, some experiments were also carried out with the glassy carbon electrode. In both cases, the electrode reaction was found to be reversible due to the presence of the phylloquinone / hydrophylloquinone redox pair. An observation of other peaks suggests one a possible occurrence of the side reactions. It should be emphasized that this work represents an initial step for a development of direct voltammetric method for the determination of VK1 and, in perspective, other related substances.
