Menace in The Dumb Waiter and The Room by Harold Pinter

Abstract

The subject of this paper is the analysis of two pieces of the Theatre of the Absurd, The Dumb Waiter and The Room, by Harold Pinter. The Theatre of the Absurd and existentialism are contextualized and the specifics of the plays of the Absurd are described. The analysis focuses on the elements of absurdity and, above all, menace which create the fundamental part of these plays.
