Nouns as premodifiers and their occurrence in native and non-native English

Abstract

Bachelor Paper deals with the linguistic construction which is called a premodification of a noun by a noun. The primary aim of this thesis is to compare the occurrence of this structure in two groups of the internet texts. The first group consists of the texts which are written by the native English speakers. The second group is formed by the texts which are written by the Czech learners of English. The occurrence frequency of this construction is the key subject of this work. Another part of the thesis is a semantic analysis of thirty authentic examples of this structure.
