Abstrakt:
This bachelor thesis discusses the development of specific reading skillswhich aredefined in the Common European Framework of Referencefor Languages, theFramework Education Programmefor Basic Education of2017,andachosen School Education Programme, focusing on lower secondary pupils within the context of the Czech education system. The main objectiveof the theoretical part is to provide the reader with an overview of how individualreading skills canbe fosteredthrough a variety of reading strategies andtheir specific techniques.The practical part aims to create a set of lesson plans and to analyse how individualtaskshelp develop differentreading skills with the use ofthe reading strategies discussed in the theoretical part. The set of reading lessonsis created mainly for lower secondaryschool English teachers to inspire them and their reading lessons.The final part of this bachelor thesis formulates its own conclusions in relation to its specific aims.
