dc.description.abstract-translated |
The article summarizes the basic principles of laser cleaning and represents its practical application in the cleaning of a valuable early rococo sculptural group of st. Jan of Nepomuck from Pohořelec in Prague. The basis for assessment of various cleaning methods (abrasive, chemical, laser) was a thorough laboratory and restoration evaluation of cleaning tests. From the tests the laser cleaning was chosen as most sensitive method and this method was used to clean sculpture following the overall concept of restoration of the object. The final discussion describes some limitations on the use of the methods of cleaning. |
