dc.description.abstract The issue of policy implementation is important for the development of any country. The type of policy, plan and process of implementation helps in the success of the policy. Many underdeveloped (Least Developed Countries) are faced with the problem of policy development and implementation. The study aims at examining regional development policies in least developed countries in Africa. Focusing on the definition of Least Developed Countries (LDC) by the United Nations, the study will investigate critically, the plan and implementation process of regional development policies in Zambia, Mozambique South Africa. The study examined the success of various educational as well as agricultural policies that have been implemented in the chosen countries and compared their various approaches in regional development policies. Education and agricultural policies were chosen as the former is key to development and the later the backbone of many African countries and the development in each area would harness the economic growth of the studied countries. eng

After the presentation the student was asked: What would be the policy she would adopt from RSA? Explain why and what would be the impacts expected. What would be improved in the country to successfully implement the selected policy? Student opted for adopting RSA agricultural policy due to its modern orientation and its participatory approach to decision making Student was further asked who the recommendations are geared towards. The discussions concluded with the question on what are the biggest challenges to policy implementation in these countries. eng
