dc.description.abstract |
The subject of this bachelor thesis is the study of the kinetics of the release of the active
pharmaceutical ingredient pentoxifylline from hydrophilic matrix tablets. In the theoretical part
is discussed controlled release, dissolution process and suitable pharmacokinetic models. The
experimental part focuses on the dissolution of hydrophilic matrix tablets in a dissolving medium
of pH 1.2 and subsequent evaluation of obtained dissolution profiles using appropriate
mathematical models. The result of this part is to determine the release rate constants of
pentoxifylline from various dosage formulations and assessment of the effect of excipients
(especially retardant components) on the dissolution profile of the drug. |
