Abstrakt:
The main purpose of this paper is to provide an analysis of the depiction of fallen women in the plays Mrs. Warren's Profession by George Bernard Shaw and The Second Mrs. Tanqueray by Arthur Wing Pinero which date back to the end of the nineteenth century, which is called the late Victorian and Edwardian period. In the initial part of the paper its main goals are introduced and the theoretical background to the analysis is provided. British drama of that period as well as its main characteristics are presented together with the role of women and their treatment. The second part considers analysis of the fallen women. Certain aspects of both heroines are then compared and contrasted.
