The bachelor's thesis is focused to the most common injuries caused by animals. The theoretical part deals with a general classification of wound types according to their origin, and with assessment of wounds as such. The thesis further continues with the way of a primary non-professional care for a wound caused by an animal and the way of care for, therapy and prevention of infectious complications in a health care facility. The thesis also shows the ways of wound healing and their individual phases. The next part of the theory discusses the use of modern dressing materials suitable for covering of wounds caused by an animal, their way of use, and also their potential complications. I have also paid attention to the kinds of animals that come most often into a conflict with a man and to events that cause dog and cat aggression specifically. The most severe infectious complications, their prophylaxis and some other specific infectious diseases form a very important chapter. The thesis includes also the potential of a posttraumatic stress syndrome development and the recommendations and therapeutic possibilities. The research part of the thesis consists of two sections. One of them is a retrospective section that monitors the incidence of injuries caused by an animal in patients treated in the traumatological clinic of a region-type hospital for a one-year period. It maps the frequency of injuries caused by animals, the wound sites, the injured's gender and age, and the kind of animals that caused the injury. The data acquired have been compared to the updated statistics of a man's injury by an animal in the Czech Republic. Monitoring of the individual wound healing was an important indicator. The second section is practical and describes two interesting case reports of patients attacked by an animal, including the photographic documentation. In conclusion, the thesis recommends some precautionary measures to prevent an attack by an animal, most commonly by a dog. |

Doplňující otázky k obhajobě:
1. Co Vás motivovalo k výběru tohoto tématu?
3. Jak by se dalo těmto úrazům předejít? Navrhněte možná doporučení.
