dc.description.abstract |
V závěrečné kapitole se vracím k dopadu výsledku bitvy o Vídeň, ohlasům tehdejších obyvatel a pokračujícím válkám vedených Svatou ligou proti Osmanské říši. Na úplný závěr přikládám obrazovou přílohu, portrét polského krále Jana III. Sobieského. |

This submitted paper deals with the military campaign of the Polish king John III Sobieski in 1683. His journey led through Moravia and its main target was to free Vienna the Habsburg residential city that was attacked by the Ottoman army. After the introduction of this paper the reader can look closer on the personality of the Polish king John III Sobieski and the political situation that was in the Europe in the second half of the 17th century. The main emphasis is put on the well arranged description of the parties at war, their diplomatic connections and contractual relations.
The consequential chapter brings to the reader the option to create an image of the protection of the Moravia against the Kuruc army. The question of defence and the effort for elimination of those dangerous attacks is in the paper discussed quite in detail. I work there with wide information sources which I also use in the following chapter dealing with the military campaign of the Polish army with the king Jan III. Sobieski as a leader and that ends before the battle of Vienna. I analyse mainly the information dealing with the military questions such as the supplying, number of soldiers, accommodation and so on. I describe the battle of Vienna in the way that was several times depicted by the period observers.
In the final chapter I get back to the impact of the battle of Vienna, to the response of the then inhabitants and to the continuing wars led by Saint League against the Ottoman Empire. In the end I enclose the supplement with the pictures of the portrait with Polish king John III Sobieski. |
