Abstrakt:
Human resources are defined as individual’s abilities that lead to the production of scarce
tangible and intangible assets, both public and private. Human resources are not considered
to be people but their attitudes, characteristics and abilities. In this context the relation to
voluntary work must be seen as one of important human resources. The paper describes the
difficulty in defining the terms volunteer - voluntary work and describes the importance of this
specific activity both for the individual and for the organization in which the work is
performed. The economic importance is described as well.
