dc.description.abstract Information is a motive power for today's entrepreneuroal environment and immediately influences corporate management. But they can be also declared to be commodity. Beside necessary production resources two next components like information and time are significant for successful management and its competitive advantage. Therefore, a worldwide competition is much stronger with the rising influence of globalization. Gaining and preserving the competitive advantage is still more difficult. The success usually comes with sufficient and relevant information. This text is focused on possibilities of gaining external information and their using with the aim of classification and characterization their sources and description of methodological procedures within gaining these information, required for company needs. cze
