Following essay deals with the Prague houses that belonged to the ownership of the House of Kinsky living in Chlumec on Cidlina in 18th century. The first part of the work is devoted to the House of Kinsky and the history of the whole family. We will observe a gradual increase of their power because the House influenced the history of their seat in Chlumec and the history of the whole Europe as well. Next chapter is about the Prague houses from the Kinsky property. At first we will concentrate on the Kinsky palaces belonging to their property in the periods before and after the Battle of the White Mountain. New two chapters, based on analysis of materials preserved in the family archive, should become an acquisition to our proper knowledge of the Prague aristocracy lifestyle in 18th century. The third chapter is aimed at the entailed house in Ostruhová street in the Lesser Town, the house that became the Kinsky property in 2nd half of 18th century thanks to František Andrew Kinsky and was last rebuilt that time. After František Oldřich Kinsky´s death the palace, mentioned above, became a part of the Kinsky property and was heritable in the line of Chlumec for the whole 18th century. We will focus our attention on everyday life in this palace that was put out to lease permanently since 2nd half of 18th century and whose working was attended by a janitor. The last part of the work brings more detailed knowledge of the inner division of the palace, especially of its residential and ceremonial apartments. The chapter is based on the analysis of the three inventories from above - mentioned entailed house and helps to deepen and elaborate our knowledge of the life of the Czech aristocracy in their homes and houses as it was practised in the early Modern Period. |
