Harry Potter as a Bildungsroman

Abstract

This bachelor paper deals with the progression of the well known wizard Harry Potter. Its aim is to refer to the Harry Potter's development from the first volume "The Philosopher's Stone" (1997) where he represents a young inexperienced orphan to the final one "The Deathly Hallows" (2007) when he portrays an adult having friends, love and also the place in society. When it comes to the literary genres, the main aim of the thesis is to prove that Harry Potter is a Bildungsroman because it is more concentrated on Potter's process of evolution taking place in the fantasy world.
