dc.description.abstract-translatedThe purpose of the contribution is to attempt to formulate the characteristic changes, which occurred in the Czech lands within the field of monument care and restoration-conservation of monuments of paintings, sculptures, handcrafts and their sets during the last years of the 20th and at the beginning of the 21st centuries. After an interval of more than twenty years since the changes of basic economic-social discourse, it is possible to describe what changes have occurred in the field of monument care and restoration since then. It is necessary to regard the change of the objectives as fundamental, concerning the issue of the inclusion of restoration- -conservation in the structure of the monument care. The structure, which had been built up since the beginning of the 80s with the aim of employing all restorers by the state within socialistic enterprises, collapsed. Consequently, the pattern of private enterprise prevailed. It was characteristic for the activities in the initial phase of the aforementioned period of history that they were in contrast to the character of the preceding activities. It would have been necessary to establish the Chamber of Restorers to make restoration independent. The state authorities would then waive their obligations and powers concerning this area of the monument care, with which professional organizations, restorers in this case, would be entrusted. The contribution also deals with the characteristic features of restoration between 2005 and 2008. The changes in the interpretation of restoration interventions are mentioned and analysed.eng
