The use of infinitive structures in newspaper reporting

Abstract

The thesis deals with the to-infinitive structure used in newspaper reporting. Main attention is paid on subject, subject complement, object, object complement, postmodifier of a noun, adjectival complement and adverbial. All these represent syntactic functions of to-infinitive. In addition, there are precisely elaborated in the thesis with the aim of finding which structure in newspapers is the most typical.
