dc.description.abstractStudie na příkladu alžbětinské poetiky a dramatu (konkrétně vybraných aspektů děl Sidneyho, Spensera, Puttenhama, Shakespeara a Jonsona) analyzuje vztah anglické renesance k antickým vzorům. Ve všech analyzovaných případech se ukazuje dvojaký vztah k antické tradici, která slouží coby model nápodoby, avšak tato adaptace klasických vzorů se zároveň stává prostředkem posílení renomé anglického jazyka a kultury, a tím i společenské autonomie Anglie obecně. Klasičtí autoři tak poskytují alžbětincům argumenty pro apologii poezie a souběžně s profesionalizací literární kultury je ustavována pozice politicky i kulturně samostatné země, a to právě skrze literaturu.cze
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe study intends to analyse the Elizabethan reconsideration of classical poetics on the basis of works of Philip Sidney, Edmund Spenser, George Puttenham, William Shakespeare and Ben Jonson. The Renaissance poet is perceived as a complex figure in the Elizabethan context, an ideal person – not just the creator of fictional worlds, but an excellent rhetorician, morally firm and an intellectual, learned in art and literary culture. Poesy then is not just an initiator of delight: it sets forth a moral example (important for its social and political impact), provides a source of education to readers and cultivates a national (as well as, in these times, a popular) language.eng
