dc.description.abstract	This paper focuses on the use of clausal structures in the function of noun postmodifiers in newspaper reports. In the theoretical part, the discourse of newspaper reporting is described, attention being paid to the role of nominalization and nominal postmodification in newspaper articles. Then, the notion of noun phrase is introduced, with focus on clausal postmodifiers and possible variants of their realization. In the practical part, the analysis of selected English broadsheet newspapers is carried out. Overall occurrence of individual types of clausal postmodifiers is closely examined, with regard to both the frequency and communicative function.	eng
dc.description.abstract-translated	Tato práce se věnuje užití větných struktur ve funkci postmodifikátoru podstatného jména v anglických novinových zprávách. Nejdříve je popsán diskurz novinových zpráv, pozornost je zaměřena hlavně na úlohu, kterou v článcích plní nominalizace a nominální postmodifikace. Poté je vysvětlen pojem nominální fráze, důraz je kladen na větné postmodifikátory, jejich klasifikaci a možnosti jejich konkrétní realizace. Praktická část se zabývá analýzou vybraných anglických novinových článků, především četností užití jednotlivých typů postmodifikujících vět a také jejich komunikativní funkcí.	cze
