dc.description.abstract	This paper deals with the question of presence of depression in Jack London´s life and his works. It concentrates on the semi-autobiographical work called Martin Eden and autobiographical work called John Barleycorn. These books served for the analysis of depressive feelings and depressing events occurring in author´s life. After reading carefully these books which reflect different periods of London´s life, and after studying the biographic works about him, it is obvious that he suffered from depression during his life and the illness influenced his writings.	eng
dc.description.abstract-translated	Tato práce se zabývá otázkou existence deprese v životě Jacka Londona. Čerpá z autobiografických děl Martin Eden a Démon Alkohol. Knihy posloužily k analýze přítomnosti depresivních pocitů a deprimujících událostí v autorově životě. Po pozorném přečtení těchto knih, které odrážejí rozdílná období v životě Londona, a po studiu životopisných děl o něm, je zřejmé, že London trpěl depresí, která ovlivnila jeho díla.	cze
