Diplomová práce je zaměřena na interpretaci vztahu náboženství a moderních prostředků masové komunikace s důrazem na situaci v České republice a s přihlédnutím k historickému i celosvětovému kontextu. Tento vztah je podrobně popsán na příkladu katolické církve reprezentující tradiční náboženská uskupení a Církve Ježíše Krista Svatých posledních dnů, která v našich podmínkách představuje minoritní náboženskou organizaci, s níž mnozí spojují pejorativní označení „sekta‘‘. Cílem práce je vysvětlit a problematizovat způsob, jakým se tyto dva směry přizpůsobují a zároveň vymezují proti situaci v současné společnosti, která je stále více ovlivňována mediální realitou. |

This thesis focuses on the interpretation of the relations between religion and modern means of mass communication stressing the situation in the Czech Republic and taking account of historical and global context as well. These relations are described in detail on an example of the Catholic Church representing traditional religious groups and the Church of the Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints which represents one of the minority religious groups in local circumstances. Many see this as a ‘‘destructive cult”, though. The aim of the thesis is to explain the way in which these streams accept the society and at the same time it delimits against the situation in the modern society as it is gradually influenced by media reality. |
