Abstrakt
This bachelor paper examines noun phrase complexity in the film review genre. The theoretical
part defines the term noun phrase, its structure and its functions. Furthermore, it provides a
detailed description of premodification and postmodification, which are optional constituents
of the noun phrase contributing to noun phrase complexity. Finally, the genre of film reviews
is also introduced. The practical part focuses on the results and interpretation of finding from
corpus compiled from film reviews published by the BBC and The Guardian. Additionally, it
presents two grammatical devices that significantly contribute to noun phrase complexity.
