This diploma thesis deals with the game Fate/Grand Order, which has become a globally widespread phenomenon within Japanese popular culture. The aim of the thesis will be to compare with what purpose the characters were visually portrayed (and why they were given the abilities and qualities they possess in the game) and how players perceive the characters (what values they associate with the characters and how they interpret and understand them). Interviews with the authors of the game will be replaced by the Books of Materials, which contain all the information about the characters, including the comments of the illustrators. |
