Study discipline:Chemistry and Technology of Inorganic Materials
Abstract:
In this work, the structure, physical and spectroscopic properties of RE-doped Ga-Ge-Sb-S bulk glasses have been systematically investigated. Thesis is divided into three main chapters.
First chapter contains the basic information about structure and properties of chalcogenide glasses, principles and concepts necessary in the proper understanding of the chemical and physical phenomena developed in the later parts of this work. At the end of this chapter discusses the important technique developed by Judd and Ofelt in which ratiative rate and branching ration data can be determined from measured absorption cross section data.
