Kapitola vychází z analýzy zájmového tisku a odborné literatury, je zaměřena na vztah mezi ženskou cyklistickou a ženskou emancipací a pokrývá období od 80. let 19. století do Velké války. Vzestup cyklistiky v českých zemích spadá do 60. let 19. století. Ženám poskytla možnost pohybu, novou formu sociability umožňující uniknout společenské kontrola, a měla vliv na způsob oblékání. |

The chapter, based on the contemporary interest journals and specialized literature, focuses on the relationship of women to cycling and covers the period from the 1880s up to the World War I. The rise of cycling sport together with the beginning woman cycling is mapped, dating back to the 1860s. Cycling provided them with the opportunity of free motion, a new type of social contact, allowing them to escape from the tight social control and giving them a more open communication with the opposite gender. Cycling also influenced the women´s apparel. |
