This contribution is dealing with potentiometric ion-pair formation based titrations of surfactants using ion-selective electrodes of carbon paste type. The electrode was modified with o-nitrophenyloctylether as a pasting liquid. Various titrants containing lipophilic cations were tested for determination of anionic surfactants and the respective potential breaks were compared. The electrode was also tested for determination of other types of surfactants in model and commercial samples. |
