The 22 – 25 week of gestation is known as the grey zone, during which the results of care are uncertain and unpredictable in advance. The prognosis may be infl uenced by many factors; for example the gestational age, fetal weight, sex, and by the caregivers approach and attitude. The real responsibility is to act according to the best interests of the child but the realisation of this concept remain unclear. Decision making proces regarding resuscitation and intensive care in extremely premature infant should be based on the honest communication among health care providers, and between health care providers and parents. |
