dc.description.abstract	Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou politické teorie modu vivendi britského politického filosofa Johna Graye. Poté, co objasní Grayovu kritiku dosud převažujícího univerzalistického pojetí liberalismu, se studie zaměří na Grayovu vlastní politickou koncepci, přičemž hlavní důraz bude v této souvislosti kladen především na vysvětlení ideálu modu vivendi, etické teorie hodnotového pluralismu, univerzálního minima a hodnoty tolerance. V návaznosti na to práce umožní posoudit etický rozměr Grayovy politické teorie, jakož i zhodnotit, zda lze autora označovat za liberálního myslitele a zda může být jeho teorie modu vivendi považována za přijatelného nástupce univerzalistického pojetí liberalismu.	cze

dc.description.abstract-translated	The main aim of this Master thesis is to analyse the political theory of modus vivendi by political philosopher John Gray. After defining Gray's critical reflection of the universalist conception of liberalism that has been dominant in Western political theory until now, the study examines Gray's own political theory. It focuses on the explanation of these essential principles: ideal of modus vivendi; ethical theory of value pluralism; universal minimum and the value of toleration. Interpreting all those main parts of the aforementioned concept, the study enables us to clarify the ethical dimension of Gray's political theory as well as to evaluate whether the author might be identified as a liberal thinker and whether his theory of modus vivendi might be considered an acceptable successor to the universalist conception of liberalism.	eng
