Abstract:
The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of selected works of the author Gerald Vizenor. It outlines the history of Native Americans and their literature as well as introducing the author Gerald Vizenor and his body of work. Furthermore, it investigates the trickster character by firstly understanding its use in a variety of traditions and then exploring it as a concept in Vizenor´s novels. Specifically it analyses within the selected literature the writing methods of Gerald Vizenor; including his use of terms, names, neologisms, gender issues and other language techniques.
