dc.description.abstract-translated This paper presents results of the regional analysis of career structures in Pardubice Region, specifically the section of professions with university education. However, it touches some of the current issues in university education mission and legitimacy of relevant employers´ expectations as well. The field research contains not only quantitative data about the current occupational structure of employees and economic characteristics of employers; but it is focused on e. g. the threat of saturation of certain professions due to higher age; missing study fields, changes in the requirements for qualification in connection with the introduction of new technologies, expansion or reduction production. The article shows the rate of professionals with university education in the Pardubice Region by sector and their internal structure. It presents the views of the Pardubice Regions employers over the future requirements of university-educated workers; evaluates the relevance of these views for decision-making regarding to the selected parameters: stability and performance of respondents as economic entities. It reflects the structure of study fields at the University of Pardubice as the main institution for saturation of the regional labour market needs. eng
