The bachelor thesis deals with the structure and function of the renal tubular cells. Thesis introduction briefly describes the role of kidneys in the body and the main function of their parts. Following chapters deal with morphology and metabolism of renal tubular cells. Namely, the principles of reabsorption and secretion of variety of compounds, i.e ions (Na+, K+, HCO3-, and phosphates), proteins, glucose, have been described, including the description of aquaporins function and hormonal effects of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone and endothelin systems. In addition, the renal tubular cells transporter systems were noted in detail Na+/K+-ATPase responsible for antiport of Na+ and K+, sodium/glucose and glucose transporters SGLT, GLUT. Finally, transport systems of proteins system of cells in proximal tubule and wall-shear stress have been discussed too. |
