Práce předkládá motiv iniciace jako archetypální cestu hrdiny v moderní britské fantasy literatuře. Zabývá se nejen žánrem fantasy a jeho tradicemi v britské fantasy, ale také použitím motivu iniciace v literatuře pomáhající utvářet žánr fantasy. Mapuje motiv iniciace od přechodových rituálů přes mýty k jeho uplatnění v této literatuře. Práce také předkládá různé změny a varianty tohoto motivu. Na tomto motivu jsou analyzována a srovnána dvě díla, a to romány J. K. Rowlingové o Harrym Potterovi a román Sussany Clarkové Jonathan Strange & pan Norrell. |

The work presents the motif of initiation as an archetypal journey of a hero in modern British fantasy literature. It deals not only with fantasy as a genre and the tradition of British fantasy but also with use of motif of initiation within literature helping to shape fantasy genre. It tracks down the motif of initiation back to rites of passage and its way through myths to literature. The work is also focused on changes of this motif and its many varieties. On this motif is also made an analysis and a comparison of two works of fantasy genre, and that is J. K. Rowling´s Harry Potter and Sussana Clarke´s Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. |
